Should I send Red Roses on Valentine’s Day?
Buyer beware is the thought of the day when selecting Valentine’s Day flowers!
If the person you are sending flowers to knows flower etiquette, the color you choose for them can subliminally convey the wrong meaning to the recipient. If they are not, you can show off your savvy in the art of love!
Traditionally we associate Valentine’s Day with Red Roses because Valentine’s Day is primarily a “Day for Lovers”. Therefore red roses are the most popular and correct flower to give to your “Lover” or someone you would like to be your “intimate other”.
However, should you want to tone it down a bit because your relationship is fairly new but still want to show you care, you can choose one of the following colors to convey the correct purpose intended for the occasion.
a. Purple flowers represents that you fell in love at first sight and that you want the relationship to still grow.
b. Pink flowers are the choice if you want to show your appreciation and or gratitude for your close friendship. They can also be given at the beginning of what you hope to be a serious relationship. Sometimes red roses can be mixed in the arrangement just to show your deeper love or desire. Pink roses or other pink flowers, such as lilies and carnations, are perfect for your significant other’s parents or a close personal friend.
c. Orange or apricot colored roses or flowers normally mean that you are enthusiastic or appreciative about the person you are giving them to. This color is perfect for sending to your secretary or close non-intimate friend.
d. Yellow roses show your sincerest friendship and joy for being able to be part of the recipient’s life.
e. Coral colored flowers state you have a strong desire for that person.
Although the above information is just a guide, you really can’t go wrong sending Silk Flowers. If you give your significant other cut flowers, they will only last about two weeks at best and typically start to wilt before then. Send them Silk Flowers and they will enjoy them for years, and more over, every time they look at them, they will remember that YOU were the one that sent them!

Thank you! I did get the email about increased listings. I had surgery, bilateral knee replacements, in July so didn’t get to following up, then forgot and was questioning the information on the site, sorry. I will get more listings up soon now that they are loading!
I put in $450, I will remember no $ sign. Sorry to be such a bother.
Thanks for all your help! PeggySue
